KIPP DC is a network of high-performing, college-preparatory charter schools in Washington D.C., which serve the city’s under-resourced communities. At KIPP DC, there are no shortcuts: outstanding educators, more time in school, a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and a strong culture of achievement and support help our students make significant academic gains and continue to excel in high school and college.

Enrollment

Enroll your child in one of our schools

KIPP DC open enrollment begins January 4, 2010. Families may apply online or at one of our campuses.  Applications for the lottery will be accepted through April 8, 2010 (January 29, 2010 for College Prep). On April 9th, applications for each grade will be entered in a lottery to determine the order in which families will be called for available spots. (College Prep's lottery will be held February 1, 2010.) All applications received after April 8, 2010 will be added to the waitlist in the order received.

Our mission is to create and sustain the highest quality school system for the communities most under-served in Washington, D.C.

KIPP DC students develop the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to become thoughtful, influential, and successful citizens in the competitive world.

KIPP DC will raise expectations of public education in under-served communities by cultivating high-performing educational leaders and by serving as a model of excellence.

More about KIPP DC

We need your help. As a public school, we receive the majority of our funding from the District of Columbia. However, KIPP DC also relies upon gifts from corporations, foundations and private individuals to finance the shortfall between District funds and operational costs. The school is grateful for gifts of all types - unrestricted funds for operations, donations directed to a specific program, and new or gently used books, furniture and office supplies.
