Why work as a teacher in a growing school?

KIPP DC: AIM Academy is looking for outstanding teachers. Teaching in a growing school will be filled with struggles as well as intense highs. Teachers will have to “wear many hats” and perform various duties for the school.

However, our teachers will:

  • Make decisions that will shape the school's curriculum, culture, and traditions
  • Work with a staff that believes all students can learn regardless of race, socioeconomic background, and language proficiency
  • Be looked upon to move into leadership positions as the school grows
  • Work in an environment where teachers can take their teaching to the next level

Positions Available

Middle school subject areas of reading, writing, math, science and history. Applicants with additional expertise in music, special education, physical education, art, computer technology, or Spanish are highly preferred.

Compensation

Teachers will be paid according to the DCPS salary scale, plus a stipend. Teachers will also be supported with a professional development stipend, a cell phone for student calls, and a laptop for lesson planning.
