Susan Schaeffler is Aspen Institute Scholar

From October 15-21, 2005, Susan Schaeffler, KIPP DC's Executive Director, attended the Aspen Institute's prestigious executive leadership training seminar.

The Aspen Institute is one of the most innovative and elite leadership organizations. It promotes open-dialogue between 'diverse groups of experienced leaders to learn from each other and from the greatest thinkers and leaders of all time.'

The six-day conference on Marylandâ??s Eastern Shore centered on academic discussion and Socratic teaching of leadership, power, and problems solving paradigms. The invited scholars analyzed academic texts and applied ideas of leadership and power to their current positions. Ms. Schaeffler was the only educator of a dozen scholars at the institute, who hailed from industries such as business, medicine, entrepreneurship, etc.

Ms Schaeffler was chosen to participate in and awarded a scholarship to the Institute because of her outstanding leadership.
