Our Funding

KIPP DC: KEY Academy's extended day, week and year generate higher costs than the schedule of a traditional, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., five-day-per-week school. As a public school, we receive the majority of our funding from the District of Columbia. However, KIPP DC: KEY Academy also relies upon gifts from corporations, foundations and private individuals to finance the shortfall between District funds and operational costs.
The school is grateful for gifts of all types - unrestricted funds for operations, donations directed to a specific program, and new or gently used books, furniture and office supplies. If you would like to make a gift to the school, here are some options:
