As a public charter school, KIPP DC: KEY Academy accepts all District of Columbia residents for admission on a first-come- first-served basis. The families of incoming fifth graders are invited to begin enrollment during January each year. For the remainder of the year, prospective students are placed on the wait list and are offered seats on a space available basis. In addition, each year, a handful of seats become available in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades as students transfer out of KIPP DC: KEY Academy.
