Sam Reheard

Sam Reheard is KEY Academy's Special Education Coordinator. Prior to working in the special education department, Mr. Reheard taught seventh and eighth grade math at KEY. Mr. Reheard joined the KEY team in 2003 from DC's Hardy Middle School, where he taught math for four years while chairing the school's leadership committee. A Peace Corps alumnus, Mr. Reheard also taught sixth and seventh grade math in Eritrea, East Africa, where he successfully lobbied the Principal to end corporal punishment at the school. Mr. Reheard's Peace Corps experience ended abruptly when the outbreak of war led to an emergency airlift of volunteers out of the country. Upon returning from East Africa, Mr. Reheard served as a faculty advisory with the Congressional Youth Leadership Council and a researcher for National Geographic Television. Mr. Reheard earned a B.A. in international relations with a minor in math from The College of William & Mary and a M.A. in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in bilingual special education from George Washington University.
