Why Join KIPP DC

Impact

KIPP DC is committed to the mental well being of students, families and staff and our student support team is at the center of this important work. From promoting wellness initiatives, providing direct services to students, and advocating for all students – you are doing crucial work that advances this mission.

Grow

At KIPP DC, we believe we are always learning. We’ve identified core competencies that drive our work and aligned development opportunities to these competencies. All student support staff have funds to seek professional development; access to educational opportunities for licensure, and there are weekly meetings to develop and collaborate.

Robust Team

At KIPP DC, we provide a full continuum of services for students with a wide range of disabilities. Our whole-child approach includes multi-tiered systems of support to address student needs. Through wraparound services, we work to improve student learning and build healthier communities by addressing the environmental, health, and economic challenges that can hinder a student’s academic or social growth.

Equity Focus

We also aim to identify and confront institutional racism to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization for staff and students. By joining the student support team, you would be part of a team that includes diversity equity and inclusion in every decision.

Additional Benefits

KIPP DC offers highly competitive salaries for student support roles that take into consideration years of experience. For school-based student support staff, we offer a renewal add-on of up to $5,000 for each year you return. KIPP DC offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, vision, various voluntary benefits, and employer paid benefits such as short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, and a membership to One Medical. KIPP DC also offers a 403(b) retirement account with employer contributions and match, vesting after three years.

"For me, it was seeing the KIPP DC mindset and structure around education, and the hours and work they put into students. During my program at the University of Michigan, I always wanted to work with students that looked like me because I wished I had that when I was growing up. Therefore, I was able to achieve my goals through KIPP DC."
