Food Assistance
KIPP DC Meal Program: KIPP DC and the District government are partnering to serve free meals to children 18 years old and younger at KIPP DC, Charter, and DCPS locations.
The District of Columbia has a new hotline for residents who cannot leave their homes and require assistance obtaining food or other necessary goods and meet a certain criteria. Call 1.888.349.8323 for more information.

Pernix Consulting: Pernix Consulting, has a new contract with the Small Business Administration (SBA), helping disburse small business loans for the crisis. They are hiring hundreds of people to work from home, all over the US. Period of performance is at least a year, with an option to extend.

KIPP DC Remote Learning Hub: Visit the KIPP DC Remote Learning hub for materials to support your child’s academic growth during school closures. All KIPP DC middle and high school students should be receiving Chromebooks. If you have questions or need tech device support connect with your child’s teacher.

Utilities Assistance
PEPCO is suspending service disconnections and waiving late fees until May 1. View more information.
DC Water has suspended disconnections for non-payment. They are also restoring service for disconnected customers and waiving late fees and offering more lenient repayment terms for customers who fall behind on their bills during the public health emergency.
Residents who are unable to make utility payments can apply for utility assistance online at DOEE.
Emergency Child Care
OSSE is providing emergency childcare for healthcare employees. This includes physicians, nurses, nurses’ aides, custodians, etc. who work in a medical facility. The service will be provided at no cost to families with a child care subsidy. AlphaBest and Champions will provide services for school age students. UPO will provide services to students aged 6 weeks to 3 years. Interested families should fill out this interest form.
