Legacy honors the past and the future

We named our new high school Legacy College Preparatory to celebrate Black history and nurture the next generation. We promote Black excellence so students are empowered to shape the world around them while honoring those who came before them.

Future Leaders at Legacy College Prep

Our students’ hopes and dreams were at the root of our plans when opening Legacy College Prep. Students advocated for specialty programs and hands-on experiences. We curated rigorous college and career-prep courses, launched enriching extracurriculars like athletics and music engineering, and started new school traditions. We opened a first-class facility where our students could dream big and build a future without limits.

"Legacy College Prep builds character and family! If you plan on having a career or attending college, they will support us with the resources to set goals to achieve and leave our legacy."

Gabrielle Barnett, Class of 2024

"Legacy is not a regular high school, it's different. Here, students have a say—in homecoming themes, elective classes, and what we discuss in student government. I know my voice matters."

Michael Johnson, Class of 2024

"It’s unfortunate that underprivileged communities often have fewer educational programs than other communities. I appreciate the steps my school is taking to ensure we are recognized."

Marjae Robinson, Class of 2025

"To me, legacy means empowerment and the mark you leave on the world. Legacy College Prep will help me do this."

Amari Brush, Class of 2024

Thank you for helping our student leave their legacy!
