Academics
Arts & Technology Academy uses the Tools of the Mind curriculum to develop executive function, promote social-emotional learning, and grow early literacy and math skills for PreK3 and PreK4 students. Kindergarten lead teachers use Reader’s Workshop and My Math curriculums to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for students success in Elementary and beyond.
Teachers and families partner to ensure each student’s individual needs are met—setting a strong foundation for their educational journey.
Play-based learning allows PreK3 and PreK4 students to express themselves, explore new concepts, and work together with their classmates. We build on this foundation in Kindergarten with effective, high-quality, and rigorous instruction that produces academic results and student growth.
Extracurriculars
Arts & Technology Academy believes in the value of extracurricular activities at school and hosts a number of events to engage students, families, and the community throughout the school year. Events include Joyful Food Market, Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, Grandparents Day breakfast, Winter Ball, Scholastic Book Fair, Tiny Kickers, Girls Power Hour, Community Gatherings, Live Streams, and more! This year, Arts & Technology Academy has introduced perfect attendance initiatives for students with a 90% or higher attendance rate and is adopting Conscious Discipline as a social-emotional resource for supporting students both academically and socially. Arts & Technology is pleased to continue their DanceDC partnership with the Washington Ballet, and JazzBops music class, and booked various presentations for our students through community partnerships with The Canady Foundation for the Arts, Scott the Music Man, and Mary’s Go Round animal farm.
Arts & Technology Academy partners with YMCA for before and after-school care.
