KIPP DC AIM Academy hosted the first ever ‘KIPP DC CUP’ Middle School Boys Basketball Tournament.
On Saturday, April 1st four KIPP DC Middle Schools competed in the ‘March Madness’ style basketball tournament at Douglass Campus in Ward 8. Families and students from AIM, KEY, WILL, and Northeast Academies filled the gymnasium and cheered their teams to victory. While all our teams fought hard, the Northeast Academy Royals were crowned KIPP CUP 2017 Champions. The Royals, led by Mr. Isaiah Johnson and Mr. Rashaand Sass, defeated KEY Academy in Round 1 and WILL Academy in the Championship game. This year, the Royals also took home the 2016-17 PCSAA Middle School Boys Basketball Championship Title.
Huge congrats to all the teams, coaches, and fans on a great day of sportsmanship, basketball, and fun! Shoutout to Mrs. Gerald and the entire AIM Academy team + family for their commitment to making KIPP DC CUP 2017 a success! See you at KIPP CUP 2018.
