We are heartbroken by the loss of Tyshon Perry, a student at KIPP DC College Preparatory high school. Tyshon was a beloved 10th grader who was outgoing and playful, excelled at math, loved to play football, and volunteered at the D.C. Public Library. He entered KIPP DC in 4th grade at KEY Academy middle school during the summer of 2011. He started high school at McKinley Technology High School before transferring to KIPP DC College Preparatory last summer for his sophomore year.
We are grieving for his family, friends, and teachers, and are wrapping our arms around the KIPP DC College Prep community to support them.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Perry family during this incredibly difficult time. We have surpassed our goal for the Tyshon Perry Memorial Fund and are no longer accepting donations. We are grateful for your support.
